There are millions of SQL Server business intelligence applications with geographic information in them according to this video. A demonstration of using Microsoft Virtual Earth to bring geo-location data to live for the business user is shown in this video.

Virtual Earth, Sql Server and excel spreadsheets allows the plotting of location data against live maps. This allows BI and geo-location capabilities previously available only in sophisticated GIS systems.
