We all use gauges in everyday life. Your car is an example of an everyday dashboard. The complexity of the engine and transmission and fuel tank are displayed in easy-to-read gauges. Large institutions use dashboards to report on the state of overall operations, as evidenced in annual reports, graphs and charts are used to summarized data over time. Technology now allows data to be tracked in real time, allowing for more flexibility in the decision making process. These visualization tools are generated through the use of software used in conjunction with institutional data.
So starts this video. There are some good screenshots of digital dashboards and information visualization graphics. This “introduction to business dashboards” video covers the basic fundamentals of dashboards.
