Mind maps are an excellent technique for BI practitioners. We are constantly reading books and it can be a challenge to understand and retain all the new material in our constantly changing field. This video is an excellent introduction to the use of mind mapping when reading books.

The basic idea is to identify your purpose for reading the book. Then you pull keywords from the various parts of the book to include in your mind map.
